Configuration Overview

To completely allow the software to scan and recover your lost data, you are required to assign Full Disk Access permissions.

Full Disk Access (macOS 13 Ventura+)

For macOS 15 Sequoia, macOS 14 Sonoma and macOS 13 Ventura users:

Step 1: Open Full Disk Access Settings

Click Open Full Disk Access button from the D-Secure interface.

What you'll see:

  • D-Secure main window with access prompt
  • "Open Full Disk Access" button highlighted
  • System settings will open automatically

To access your data, you need to assign full disk access

Step 2: System Settings Window

Full Disk Access window is displayed. Enable access for D-Secure application.

Actions required:

  1. Locate D-Secure in the application list
  2. Click the toggle switch to enable access
  3. Enter administrator credentials if prompted
  4. Confirm the permission change

Full Disk Access (macOS 12 Monterey & Earlier)

For macOS 12 Monterey, macOS 11 Big Sur and earlier versions:

Navigate to Security & Privacy

Open System Preferences and go to Security & Privacy > Privacy tab.

Navigation steps:

  1. Click Apple menu → System Preferences
  2. Select Security & Privacy
  3. Click Privacy tab
  4. Scroll to Full Disk Access

Enable DSecure Access

From the bottom, click the 🔒 lock icon and enter your administrator password.

Final steps:

  1. Click the lock to make changes
  2. Enter admin password
  3. Select Full Disk Access → D-Secure File Eraser
  4. Enable the checkbox

Verify Access & Launch Application

A dialog box appears on the screen with a message: "D-SecureFileEraser will not have full disk access until it is quit". Click Quit & Reopen.

Success! D-Secure now has full system access and is ready to use.

Next Steps:

  • Application will restart automatically
  • All features are now available
  • Begin your first erasure operation
