Server Data Erasure

Securely Erase Data on Servers with D-Secure Drive Eraser

Discover how D-Secure Drive Eraser can securely wipe servers and storage devices to permanently erase confidential data with compliant compliance.

Why Secure Server Erasure Matters

Enterprises rely on servers to centralize data storage, facilitate collaboration, and run mission-critical applications that power core operations. Popular server brands include Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Lenovo ThinkServer, Cisco UCS, Fujitsu Primergy, and many others.

When servers need upgrading or reach end-of-life, IT asset disposition (ITAD) managers must securely wipe data before retirement or reuse. Managed service providers (MSPs) have similar obligations to erase client servers per contractual requirements.

Regulatory Compliance Requirements

Global regulations like GDPR in the EU, along with industry-specific laws such as HIPAA, GLBA, SOX, and SEC 17a, mandate proper data sanitization for organizations in finance, insurance, healthcare, retail, and public sector industries.

Supported Server Types & Storage

D-Secure Drive Eraser provides robust data erasure capabilities for a wide range of enterprise servers:

Dell PowerEdge

R740/R740xd, EMC PowerEdge C6400, FC640, XR2 series

HPE ProLiant

DL380 Gen 10, ML350 Gen 10, Apollo 4510/4200

Lenovo ThinkSystem

SR650, ST650 V2, DE2000H series

Cisco UCS

C240 M5 Rack Server and B-Series

Supermicro

SuperServer SYS-2029U-TR4 and more

Oracle & Others

Sun x86 Servers, Fujitsu Primergy, Huawei FusionServer

The software detects and wipes all drive types used in modern servers. It supports RAID dismantling automatically and enables simultaneous erasure of multiple systems connected over a network.

Three Methods for Server Erasure

D-Secure Drive Eraser offers flexible deployment options to match your infrastructure requirements:

1. USB Boot Solution

Create a bootable USB from the D-Secure ISO file and boot servers directly. Ideal for individual servers or small-scale operations.

  • • Download ISO from cloud account and burn to USB using UNetbootin (Windows, Linux, Mac)
  • • Boot server from USB and connect to internet
  • • RAID dismantling performed automatically
  • • Select drives, choose wiping algorithm, and initiate erasure
  • • Digitally signed reports saved to cloud automatically

2. Network PXE-Boot Solution (Coming Soon)

Wipe multiple servers simultaneously over a network using PXE boot (Coming Soon) technology. Perfect for enterprise-scale operations.

  • • Deploy D-Secure Network Cloud on central server
  • • Configure connected servers to boot via ONBOARD NIC (IPV4)
  • • All drives displayed on application interface automatically
  • • Mass erasure with unified reporting to cloud

3. Remote Erasure via LOM

Perform remote data wiping using server's lights-out management (LOM) technology for data centers at physically spread-out locations.

  • • No physical access required to remote servers
  • • Secure erasure from centralized console
  • • Ideal for distributed data center environments

System Requirements

USB Boot Requirements

  • Processor: x64 Processor
  • RAM: 8 GB Recommended
  • USB Device: 2 GB or more
  • Internet: WiFi or Ethernet (Offline variant available)

PXE Boot Requirements (Coming Soon)

  • Machine: Standard Server with 16 GB RAM minimum
  • Server OS: Windows Server 2016, 2019, or 2022
  • Network: Unmanaged Network Switch
  • Configuration: AD, DNS, DHCP, WDDS, IIS Server

Key Benefits of D-Secure Server Erasure

  • Automatic RAID Dismantling: Supports common RAID controllers like Adaptec, Dell PERC, and LSI
  • Multi-Drive Erasure: Simultaneously wipe all drives in a server
  • compliant Compliance: Meet GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, and other regulatory requirements
  • Tamper-Evident Reports: Digitally signed certificates auto-uploaded to cloud
  • ISO Customization: Configure for automated "no-click" wiping workflows
